The beautiful shape and color make this old French heirloom ideal for fall displays, and auntumnal gatherings. A natural mutation is what gives Rouge Vif D'Etampes its appearance, and fruits can weigh 20 pounds! Heavy producers, they make a delicious soup, pies, muffins, and roasted side dish.

Like most pumpkins, this Cinderella variety needs full sun, fertile soil and plenty of rooms for vines to stretch out. This fruit can make a simple party more extravagent by hollowing out the pumpkin and using the shell for soups, dips, and sauces.

Sow seeds about a half inch deep, keep warm and moist. Best to start seeds when soil temperatures are in the 70's and leave plenty of room between plants, 20-36" so they do not stress/compete.
