Japanese White Eggplant Solanum melongena

This sweet Japanese heirloom is tender, tasty, and extra productive. Fruits are smallish, 3" to 4" long, perfect for stir fry and grilling. These are entirely different from ornamental Easter Egg plant (cute but inedible). These are delicious!

Solanum melongena remain white at maturity and can be left on the vine to grow large if you like. Plants are small, but very productive, compact enough to be grown in containers.

Eggplants got their name because they used to come in only one color - white. This original white eggplant is now very trendy - smaller than the purple and more tender. They're a standout at farmers' markets and easy to grow. Kept harvesting and they keep on producing. 65 days.
